Daniel Grainger founded Grainwood in 2011 after twelve years as a hardwood installer and finisher in Sarasota and Tampa Bay — watching homeowners get sold inappropriate flooring choices for our climate: solid hardwood on slabs without proper vapor barriers, cheap LVP with sub-15 mil wear layer in pet households, laminate flooring in Florida bathrooms guaranteed to swell at the first leak. The pattern was always the same: low price wins the bid, the install fails in 2-4 years, the homeowner blames flooring as a category instead of the installer.
